On 2 October, the Universitat Jaume I will host the 12th Technical Conference for Local Development Professionals, organised by the ADLYPSE Federation, with the participation of Ibercivis.
Under the title «Ciencia Ciutadana i Desenvolupament Local Sostenible» (Citizen Science and Sustainable Local Development), the event brings together local development professionals around experiences, methodologies and tools connecting public innovation, citizen labs, universities and municipalities.
The major social, economic and environmental challenges affecting municipalities call for forms of collaboration that no longer depend solely on institutions or universities. Increasingly, innovation also stems from the collective intelligence of citizens, from the knowledge accumulated across territories, and from the ability to connect people, organisations and communities around shared goals. It is on this premise that the 12th Technical Conference for Local Development Professionals is being held, taking place on 2 October at the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón.
Throughout the morning, the conference will address experiences, methodologies and tools showing how citizen science can become a tool for designing public policy, driving territorial innovation and strengthening community participation in addressing local challenges. The event takes a practical approach, focused on the exchange of experiences among professionals, shared learning and the creation of new working partnerships.
Following the institutional welcome, our colleague Maite Pelacho will open the morning’s technical programme with the talk «Citizen science as territorial public innovation», in which she will connect Ibercivis’s experience in citizen participation projects with the specific challenges facing municipalities and territories.
The event in spanish is organised by the ADLYPSE Board, in collaboration with the Institut Interuniversitari de Desenvolupament Local, the Diputació de Castelló and the UJI itself.
