VI International Conference BIFI2014

«Exploring the role of computation in Science: from Biology to Physics»
22-24 January, 2014

Next week the VI International Conference BIFI2014 will take place in Zaragoza.
The aim of this international meeting is to bring together researchers from whatever discipline where demanding computer simulations are required as a fundamental research tool.

The aim of this international meeting is to bring together researchers from whatever discipline where demanding computer simulations are required as a fundamental research tool. The approach will be focused on the techniques (Monte Carlo, Molecular Dynamics, quantum chemistry, cellular automata, optimization techniques,…), while the goal is that researchers from different field may learn from each other’s approach and methods. A special attention will be also given to the interplay between simulation techniques and new high-performance computing paradigms. Contributions in Disordered Systems, Molecular Biology, Molecular Dynamics, Complex Networks, Computation in Neuroscience, Big Data Analytics and Visualization, High-throughput data analysis and screening, Massive Genomic Sequencing, Complex Systems, as well as any other fields, will be welcome.

Main topics to be covered during the meeting:
– Molecular Modeling (session co-organized by the ZCAM)
– Biological Systems
– Computational Physics

To this end, the format of the Congress will include plenary sessions and short talks. Short talks will be selected among poster contributions. The official language of the conference is English. Researchers from any Institution are warmly invited to attend the meeting.

The conference will be held at Ibercaja Zentrum, C/ Joaquín Costa, 13. 50001 Zaragoza (Spain).
