OpenReq

An intelligent system for gathering and prioritising software requirements with the community, applied to citizen science

About the project

OpenReq set out to build an intelligent recommendation and decision system for community-driven requirements engineering. The system recommended, prioritised and visualised requirements using techniques developed at research institutes.

Its results were aimed at several communities: software professionals, the scientific community and the open-source requirements engineering community.

The role of Ibercivis

Fundación Ibercivis built a platform to help develop citizen science, where citizens, scientists and project managers could share general requirements for citizen science or gather those for a specific app.

The platform was designed to collect requirements from social networks such as Twitter, from Play Store reviews and from elsewhere on the internet, share them between citizen science projects, group them and filter them according to each user’s preferences.
