At the Ibercivis Foundation we are committed to protecting the privacy of our collaborators by assuming the utmost rigour in our responsibility with respect to personal data. We want to be absolutely clear and transparent about what information we are collecting and what we will do with that information.

All personal data is collected and processed in accordance with the data protection laws in force in the European Union and set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679.
Data controller
Ibercivis is responsible for the processing of all personal data it obtains.
Ibercivis is a private non-profit foundation with NIF: G99330094. It was set up as a foundation on 14 November 2011 in Madrid with the aim of continuing its work in collaboration with citizen research and carrying out dissemination and training activities. Its registered office is at Campus Río Ebro, Edificio I+D, C/ Mariano Esquillor, s/n, 50018 Zaragoza, Spain.
The Ibercivis Foundation has a Data Protection Officer (DPO), Francisco Sanz, who is responsible for advising on compliance with these regulations in the context of the processing of personal data. We also provide you with an e-mail address to contact us at ethics@ibercivis.es.

Your personal data is only used for:
Contacting you in case of launching a new citizen science activity that may be of interest to you
Optimal operation of citizen science applications – e.g. BOINC, PyBossa, etc.
Personal data collected
Personal data consists of information that identifies or enables the identification of individual persons such as name, postal address, e-mail address or telephone number etc.
Recipients of assignments or transfers
We follow strict security procedures when storing your personal data. Under no circumstances do we pass your information on to third parties.
Rights and how to exercise them
In appropriate circumstances, by law you have the right to:
Request information about whether we hold personal data about you and, if so, what data it is about and why we hold or are using it.
Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a ‘data subject access request’). This allows you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are processing it lawfully.
Request correction of the personal data we hold about you. This allows you to correct any incomplete or incorrect information we hold about you.
Request deletion of your personal data. This allows you to ask us to delete or erase your personal data where there are no other legitimate grounds for processing it further. You also have the right to ask us to delete or erase your personal data where you have exercised your right to object to the processing.
Request the transfer to you or a third party of your personal data in an electronic and structured format (commonly known as the right to ‘data portability’. This allows you to take the data we hold about you in a commonly used electronic format and to be able to transfer your data to a third party in a commonly used electronic format.
You will not have to pay a fee to access your personal data (or to exercise any other of your rights). In the event that your request for access is manifestly unfounded or excessive (e.g. repetitive), you may be charged a fee proportionate to the administrative cost or no action may be taken.
