Urban ecology

Urban ecology (‘Urban ecology’) was an open working group, promoted by Zaragoza Activa, in which volunteers designed and carried out actions to analyse, raise awareness of and enrich Zaragoza’s ecosystem, with the aim of making the city more sustainable and more responsible with its natural resources.

Planned actions included continuing Vigilantes del Cierzo, which had handed out a thousand plant pots to households in Zaragoza to monitor air quality. The group wanted to work with soil, air and water, indoors and outdoors, in the city centre and in the neighbourhoods.

The group met on two alternate Thursdays a month, from 10 am to 1 pm, at Zaragoza Activa’s premises on Calle Las Armas. Participation was voluntary and open to any idea.
