Socientize and other 6 projects starring in the EC stand in Euroscience Open Forum 2014, celebrated in Copenhague 21-26 june. Our motto during the event was #ILoveEUResearch.
The event has a huge agenda, and Socientize participates not only with demos at the stand, but introducing the project in the Exhibition Stage of the main bulding in a speech of Eduardo Lostal, held Tuesday 24 introducing Socientize in a talk entitled “Enabling the new way for the Citizen Science in Europe”. In the satellite area “Wonder Café”, same day Eduardo participates at workshop called “Engagement in Citizen Science”.
Socientize team at ESOF was completed with Caroline Manahl from ESOF and Manuel Pérez from Tecnara. In our space at EC stand we meet many people interested on the concept of CS, on the Whitepaper and their conclusions, suggestions for new experiements and concerns about the technology requested under Socientize activities. Sure we can benefit the project from these top level contacts.
VIP visitors like JM Durao Barroso, president of EC; Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Commissioner for Research and Innovation; or Robert-Jan Smits, DG Research, stay with us for knowing the basis of Socientize and how CS will help Europe in the battle for science and innovation leadership. Specially nice the congratulations of DG Smits for all the staff and volonters of the project.
Socientize people visted too “K-Open-hague Science Festival”, and meet people from different science groups that work half on “Makers” movement and half on CS as we do.
