European Project Manager position

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a person with more than three years of experience in the management of R&D projects funded through the European Commission’s framework programmes (FP7, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, Creative Europe), in the fields of sciences or social sciences and humanities. The main tasks of the candidate will be to monitor and control the allocation of resources to the different projects funded, financial reporting, administrative procedures and contact with the European Commission. In addition, the candidate will participate in the execution of specific research tasks in one of the projects, according to his/her skills and potential.

The projects in which Ibercivis participates belong to a wide variety of scientific areas, and our role is typically to integrate citizen science and participatory research methodologies, apply co-creation methodologies, foster dialogue between different actors, stimulate the generation of policies based on scientific evidence, design and implement communication and dissemination plans, data management and ethical aspects.

What will be your functions?

You will work closely with the Administration Department for the project management tasks mentioned above, as well as with the other Research Departments depending on the tasks assumed in research projects according to your skills. 

  • Monitoring and control of the resources dedicated to the projects.
  • Preparation of administrative and management documentation within the approved projects, especially those coordinated by Ibercivis.
  • Elaboration and management of administrative procedures and presentation to the European Commission.
  • Contact with the Commission on any particular administrative or contractual issue that may arise during the implementation of European projects.
  • Carrying out research tasks in accordance with the candidate’s skills and potential, in collaboration with the internal teams involved in the project(s).

What are the requirements for this position?

  • University degree in a scientific/technical field, social sciences and/or humanities.
  • Knowledge of accounting, finance and business planning would be an asset.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT tools, in particular Google Workspace and Microsoft office suite.
  • High knowledge of English (equivalent to C1).
  • Team work.
  • Ability to manage several tasks at the same time.
  • Proactivity, problem solving and ability to work autonomously.
  • Interest in citizen science and research and innovation projects.
  • Willing to travel locally, nationally and internationally.
  • Training in R&D Management (Master’s degree or approved courses) and previous experience in the field of Citizen Science will be a plus.

  • Annual salary of €29,676 gross.
  • Full-time position (7.5 hours/day).
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Possibility of working several days remotely.
  • 22-month extendable contract (starting date: 01/03/2023).
  • Extensive holidays: 23 days of your choice + long weekends + 1 week at Christmas, following the University of Zaragoza’s public holiday calendar.
  • Possibility of gaining experience in research activities.
